I know a guy who is selling a Mossy Mariner for $150..  My take is that it is a regular M590 with some anti corrosion finish..  Any input?



Update: Well the silver finish is growing on me.  Looks pretty cool.  Anyway it is not really a satin finish but more shiny than the matte ones I see on store shelves.  I put a tritium bead on it and one of those elastic shell holders that slip over the stock.  Gave it a good breakdown and clean/lube.  I need a sling, right?  And maybe a mounted light?


Any thoughts?

Not sure I like the silver finish, Can I paint it.  Are the Mossy guns easy to trick out like 870's?  And is this indeed a 590?

Can't paint stainless or nickel, but it's a good price on a reliable shotty.  I'd take it.

I dont think it is stainless, some anti corrosion finish..  Gotta be some type of finish that would work?

if it is a 9 shot then it is a 590, if only a 6 shot then its a 500.  the matte nickel looks pretty cool if you ask me

Havent seen it yet..  But if it is the 6 shot can youget a mag extension for it?

no, that's the only downside to a mossberg.


I can live with the mag difference.  I dont know what configuration it is.  I'll talk to the guy tomorrow.  But I want it for a bedside gun.  I was given a case of Win 000 buck a few weeks ago too..  I'm thinking a light or something for the barrel.  Any thoughts?

Yes. But your going to want to abrasive blast it first.
