I come home from work today, and my last job of the day was in the 'hood.....traffic was a bitch, and I was grumpy.......I come in the house, and the wife is making my FAVORITE dinner, Chicken Paprikash, with noodles, and a side of fresh peas......well, she wasn't making it the way I MAKE IT, so I said....."WTF are you doing?".......now mind you, she doesn't even like the stuff....she was making it for ME......well.....I went off and left her to her own devices, and I calmed down......well when dinner was done.....IT WAS FANTASTIC! BETTER THAN GRANDMA's.......so now, I feel like an ass.......I said I'm sorry, but am still getting the look.......[sigh]....damn I'm stupid sometimes......

It happens. Set some time aside for the two of you and treat her to a romantic dinner you made yourself, or do something else for her that's special and involves your personal effort (don't buy something).
