At a recent lecture, Nature was heavily cited.  I know it has a good rep and all but the freqeuncy of it being cited made me think I should follow it.

Anyone here subscribe/follow?

For academics/scientists, being published in Nature implies that you have done research that is truly unique and sufficiently interesting to make it into the top general science journal.  Generally, Nature is a step above Science.

At my level and interest, I find both journals relatively indigestible.  American Scientist, and other crap is about all I can tolerate.

Most of the time, I feel that Nature and Science are excessively specific and narrow, but of course they could give a flying fuck what I think.

I know one person who got published in Nature for green flourescent protein in Pseudomonas.  Another acquaintance got published in science for salmonid resting dynamics in riverine systems.

On a personal level, the Nature dude is a god, and the Science dude is a douchebag.

Why don't you see if you can get an online trial or something.  I seem to recall that Nature is rather pricey, and you might as well not sign up for something that you might conclude sucks.
