Here's something I haven't seen discussed much:

The reason the Mexican government wants illegal immigration into the U.S is simple. TO KEEP POWER.

Obviously lots of people aren't very happy living in Mexico...hence the illegal immigration into our country. But, who is really coming here? The rich Mexicans? The Mexican upperclass?

Of course not.

It is the Mexican underclass that has traditionally been supressed and held down by the Mexican upperclass.

Now, consider this....

If our border were secured...and if all the Mexican underclass was forced to stay in Mexico, what do you think would happen? You got it....

Revolution.

A similiar situation happens in the Middle-East...to keep its people from rising up against them, the rulers in these countries keep the people focused on the evils of the West as an outlet....otherwise, again, the people would start focusing on the real cause of most of their problems...their leadership...and would enact a change.

So, help secure the borders and help the suppressed Mexican people enact their long overdo revolt..

VIVA LA REVOLUTION!!!!!!

Only reason they have more cell phones than the US is that the infrastructure for cell phones is much easier to set up and maintain-compare towers every few square miles vs. laying thousands of miles of land lines...

No need to discuss that Mexican politics are a pressure cooker, and we are the safty valve.  It is simply a matter of fact.  When I am in the mood to defend Bush (which is less and less frequent), I simply point out that being invaded might be the preferable option to having your neibor in a shooting revolution.

There was recently an armed uprising in Mexico- in Chiapas the Indians revolted and were largely given what they wanted (ostly because they had a valid bitch).

As far as the upper class keeping everyone down- the poor largely stay poor due to their own efforts- if you are a laborer in mexico, there is a large number of folks willing to work for cheap.... reality is you are highly unlikely to get wealthy being a laborer. Better educated folks get better jobs and make more money. This is what we call survival of the fittest, and, in reality, is society as it should be (although, of course, there are many problems in mexico with corruption etc...)

The gov't in mexico doesn't hold everyone's dick and hand out massive welfare doles or free medicare like in the US (or Canada)- it also doesn't charge massive income or sales taxes. It really is survival of the fittest in Mexico- something that many of you espouse as being the way it should be in the US -"don't work, don't eat". You really couldn't imagine what it would really be like.......... You need to realize that illegal immigration is a result of the socialist paradise you folks have created and are continually improving on in the US- why wouldn't you go somewhere were you could get free school/healthcare , and make more (often tax free) money that you do in your own homeland?

That said, quit whining about what other countries do/don't do and take action in your own country. Vote out those politicos that aren't doing what they should be doing....build a wall, whatever...

There are two options.

I just spoke to my friend in the AZ Border Patrol.  The Mexicans are flooding across the border the past few weeks much higher than normal.  He says they are making more arrests over last year, with fewer officers.  WTF?!

I asked him where are the illeals going..  he said "To the protests."

Also, a good point was made about Mexico being a work or starve country.  We HAVE created a socialist paradise.  You'd have to be a little nuts not to try to emigrate from a third world shithole to the US, Canada, or Europe.  I sure as shit would if I couldn't manage to make the jump from exploitee to exploiter lol.  Doesn't make it right, but you have to consider it objectively.
