I am very sorry to hear that, it's never easy when you lose a brother.
I sure hope there will be some payback in true Marine Corps fashion.

I terribly sorry for you and for his family.

I lack the words to adequately describe the gratitude I feel for the people like you guys.  I greatly appreciate the sacrifices you all make for the rest of us Americans.

I've always had a heroic respect for corpsmen. I'm a firefighter, and can relate to a very  small degree. Firefighters have a similiar occupation, with the biggest difference being, we don't rescue people while getting shot at or  with the other hazards of war, and the people we  typically help  are not our close friends. Being able to work on a buddy while he may be mortally wounded, takes a very strong person.  Their bravery is unequaled.  I respect, admire, and appreciate all of the members of our armed forces, past and present, but I have a special respect for the corpsmen. True heros indeed. I was on duty last night, said a prayer for Him, His Family, and OneShot One Kill. Then laid  in bed, comfortable, and safe,  I couldn't get you guys out of my mind. Thank you again for all you guys do for the rest of us, safe at home. I'm at home now, I thought about that also, when my shift is over, I can come home to my wife and family, you guys can not, just one more reason to say thanks.  God bless you all.

I'm sorry to hear we've lost another of our brothers here, especially since he was a friend of yours.
My cousin is a corpsmen, he did a tour last year and will be back here in a short while.. and my brother is a Jarhead on his first deployment... he's at El Taqqadum... yes I'm nervouse.
Keep up with the good job you are doing here and try to stay up.

Thanks for the kind words, you all.
It's just a Black Day today and everyone is dragging tail. An empty spot at the Cigar Circle tonight.
3/7 is turning over with 3/8 and 3/7 has taken a beating the last few days.
We've a tradition of forming up when the Helo comes to fly out the body. The gang forms up in a double line and salutes when the guy's buddies carry him to the Helo. It's hard to think of one of your guys in that black bag on that stretcher.
The Marines are spun up. When they came tearing in this morning, hell bent for leather, and began offloading, it was tough.
I ask one LCPL," Where's your Corpsman! Where's your corpsman!"
He's crying and puking. Another guy is yelling and throwing his helmet at the ground, and my corpsman is the one they are offloading.

I'm getting very little tolerance for the ROP.

It's late and I've still got some paperwork to catch up with and a letter to write and 3/7 is looking for some payback. Let's hope its all one-sided this time.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow;
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn rain.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there.  I did not die.

Just venting a little.

Don't get mad, get even!  I pray every day for the safety of our troops and that more support grows for the war so that we can take any doubt out of the terrorists.  Oh, and I am also praying that the anti-war people eat shit and die.
