Has anyone used any of these language-learning packages like Rosetta Stone?

Seeing as I'm working for a French company, I figure it might be good politics to learn French.

Suggestions?

I have third-hand info that Rosetta Stone is pretty good.  I've been looking at their beginning Japanese package.  Pricey, though.

I was using Rosetta Stone to learn Bahasa Indonesia, and Pimsleur to learn Thai.  I liked RS much better.  Seeing the words and pictures makes a difference.

Though Pimsleur claimed that they had native Thai speakers on the audio, the way they spoke bore no relation to how Thais speak to each other.  I learned more in 2 weeks after I got here.

Took 4 years of French in High School, but never used it until I was in Kosovo and we had a Gendarme unit on our base.

Oh, yeah. Very much so.

I'd like to learn Italian and Japanese, too. I'm a glutton for punishment.
