Local news outlets report the
Sharks have left Anclote Island.
Sky news flew over this morning
and found the sharks had vacated
the area. They have no clue where
they have gone.

And you posted this because....????? [rolleyes]

It IS interesting that such a hullabaloo was raised by the 'Defenders of the 1st'.  Maybe because one of the science channels have been running shark shows this week.  Saw a great one about Whites coming out of the water to predate seals off an island near Sud Afrika.  Pretty impressive footage of 15'ers COMPLETELY out of the water with a seal in their mouth.

Sharks are mysterious critters and, I've heard, highly mobile.  I wonder if maybe they were just migrating.  Let us know if they come up with a reason.

HANGFIRE,

Man, I told ya yesterday I was going 'sharking' after work!
[;)]

BTW, the Mote Marine (Sarasota) rep said that most were blacktips and that it wasn't unusual for them to congregate this time of year as they head south. He did say that he never saw that many in one locale.

Tis the season. Where do you ship out at?
I take an shotgun with slugs when I go. I like
shark fishing at night with a half to full moon.
We use to have some good tournaments locally
until the shark lovers got the law changed.
If you can get some pics and post them[smoke]

Have seen something like it.

The Great White show I was talking about also had footage of these airborne Whites feeding on a whale carcass that had grounded and then been towed to sea to clean up the beach.  The sharks were totally uninterested in swimmers as they gorged themselves on rotten whale blubber.  They went until they were satiated and then had a post picnic orgy.  Narrator theorized that they can only trust each other to have sex without attacking themselves after they are totally satisfied after just such a frenzy.  It was bizarre.

I guess it goes to human behavior, too.  I'm always pretty randy after the wife and I have had all you can eat sushi.  I'm not to concerned about her eating me (food wise) then, too.  She's full of fish just like the sharks.  Hmmm.....
