My wife, three children and I live in a town house. We recently had some new neighbors move in across the street. They are both young and look to be well under 20 and have 2 kids. Well the weakend after they moved it they had a huge party. Lots of alcohol, high school kids (letterman jackets gave it away) and yelling/fighting. Their friends took up all the empty parking spots which made it so our guests had to park in the street. Well it got late the fighting and yelling in front of our house became intolerable so I called the police. No more than 3 minutes after I called the police everyone took off running. THey must of had a scanner or something. The police showed up 1.5 hours later when everything was already over and done with. We called the landlord on the following Monday and were told they would recieve a warning when the police report arrived. So fast forward to last Friday, our neighbors second weekend living by us. Once again the neighbors have a huge party and it ends up in yelling and fighting right in front of my dang door. So once again I call the cops and this time they block the entrances to our neighborhood and had a few cops on foot. I can understand taking 15 minutes because its hard to get that many unit coordinated. Anyway, it was almost over and done with again. So today my wife calls the landlord again and tells them about the party and the cops getting a call. The landlord tells her that she was just about ready to call us when she called. The landlord got a message from the partying new neighbor saying that we were having a big party and people were fighting so she called the cops. I was freakin pissed! I called the cops and asked if there was a call about us having a party. Of course they had no record of it. So I asked if they had a record of my call which they did. So I called the landlord back to pass along this info. I was told that they would get the police report and send another warning. She then notifies me that because the cops showed up so late and there was nothing going on the previous weekend they would not be receiving the first warning! I have never had the police called on me for being loud. I dont even have a dang stereo for crying out loud! I'm going to use a camcorder from now on to record what is going on. This is rediculous. I would like to lob a CS grenade into the next crowd of idiots that ends up in my yard but I am unsure of the legal ramifications or where to even get a cs grenade. Maybe I'll just get a fire extinguisher size pepper spray bottle.

More fun yesterday!

Last night I'm sitting at my computer when I heard something outside. I look out the window and some stupid kid has his hands cupped around his eyes with his face pressed up against my driver side window. I was afraid he was going to break the glass so I banged on the window and took off for the front door. I chased them around the house and they ran into some on coming traffic. One car had to come screaching to a hault so they wouldnt hit them. I wasnt wearing shoes so I didnt persue them any further.

Get one of those big fireworks mortor and shoot it over their heads when they are having the next party or just camo up and spray a paintball gun at their legs. You could also do that to protect your cars and such. See a kid eyeing your car? Just peg him with a couple of paintballs no serious harm done to him or your property if you miss. Just make sure you dont hit them in the face

I went through this same shit,it took 3 years of calling police and giving them all the trouble i could make for them,but they all left the neighborhood. I had them next door and across the street,there was at least 20 of them running around here at all times. One of the best times was when they had a party next door and i called and got two arrested,then the asshole across the street starts talking shit after the police left, i called them back and told them who i had seen giving them the booze He moved away shortly after that.

I had a neighbor dispute a few years back. Some punk ass thug wannabe moved in downstairs from me. He sold crack, had no job, old lady on welfare...you know the type. These assholes would cause all kinds of grief....block my car in the driveway then leave, sell dope on the front steps, fight and break out the windows of the house.....you get the picture, real winners. Well, one day, this all comes to a head, while I'm at work. The dude gets into it with my wife and starts with the "Fuck you! I'll smack you bitch". My woman calls the police. They TELL HER to leave. She thinks, "WTF?", and stays, knowing I'm on my way home. Before I get there, dude's bitch and one of her friends shows up. They march up my stairs, and start pounding on my door. My ol' lady is REAL worried, and goes to the door. The bitch's friend, as soon as my wife turns the doorknob, SHOVES the door in on my wife, enters my home, and beat up my wife. My wife is 5'2", and 100lbs. The other woman was about 200lbs, my wife says. This happened in front of my then 4 yr old daughter, and my newborn, who was strapped in a car seat. All my wife could think of was get them away from the kids. We had no firearms at the time. I got home with in minutes of this ending, and I must have passed the bitch on my way down my street as she was leaving. I was flipping mad, told the crack dealer I was going to kill him, with a baseball bat, and then fuck his dumb bitch welfare whore in the ass with the bat after I beat him to death with it. So he KNOWS he pushed THIS jarhead way too far this time. He packs up his whore and their little welfare kids and leaves. Doesn't comeback for a few days. By then the police have been there again. I have the wife out at her mother's place, and I'M packing my stuff to move. From that day, until the day I moved out, the motherfucker didn't give me any more shit, didn't say anything to me, didn't look at me, and didn't park in the driveway anymore. BUT HE WON THE WAR, I moved out. If I had been armed at the time, I think I would have shot them both, I was honestly that furious.

My point is, BE CAREFUL, my friend. Especially if you have family, and they're alone when you're at work.

Damn dude.....that sucks ass, I've had to deal with bad neighbors before and I can tell ya..there's not a whole lot that's worse. It can definately lower your quality of life.

I know they're across the street but...tall fences make good neighbors.

Maybe you could build a mote or an automatic sentry gun system.

Damn, that's a pretty good idea. Between that and recording them yourseld you should have it covered.

If that fails bumpfiring a couple of mags into the air should cover it.

Expecting the cops to have a full response the first time is a bit too much to expect. Now that they know there is a problem house, they will be able to respond better.


For the thread originator, when you call the cops, see if you can get a file number (or reference number). Then reference that when you call the landlord..

I have no problem with people in the neighborhood being ticked off at me.  I live here to and refuse to let them make me a victim.  We plan on buying some land outside of town but dont know when that will happen.

Sounds like you need to make plans to break your lease based uppon the managements lack of security. Word it in a letter and see if they get the problem solved.

We had no peephole.....we had no chain.....and do you think the little screws that hold the chain to that piece of molding, with the #8 finish nails are going to hold off a 200# lunatic?.....and does your wife answer the door armed? or would she have to travel some distance to get to a weapon?....I'm not trying to be pessimistic, but just be careful.... Sorry, I wasnt picking on the way you or your wife handled things.  Just saying that she does things differently.  Most of the time she has her handgun.

When the kids are playing outside I am out there with them.  I carry 100% of the time.

One of the best ways to screw with themback is after one of these partys, say around 8am when they are still hung over, make as much loud noise as you can. Or you can do as my friend did if they are below you. He bought a hex dumbbell, tied a string to it, dropped it and dragged it around the floor all day and night long.  That can get very annoying.

And the best part is that nw the landlords know they are liars and will be less likly to believe them if they complain about you.

 No prooblem, its just hard to get a feel for how someones coming across on the internet.  

The parties and the car incident I think are completely unrelated.  I think it was just some punk kids walking through the neighborhood.  I've thought about watching at a couple of the bus stops in the morning to see if I can find the kid.
