Lawbreakers Hit Jackpot with Blanket Amnesty, Massive Visa Increase, Minimal Employer Fines.

www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=6239

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) assailed Sen. Arlen Specter’s 13 million person amnesty that the Judiciary Committee chairman introduced today. Specter’s bill, which is expected to be used as the basis of immigration discussions in the Senate Judiciary Committee next month, would grant a blanket amnesty to illegal aliens currently in the U.S., adds almost no personnel or equipment to secure the border, fails to significantly increase penalties for illegal employers, and overwhelms America’s immigration system with countless new legal immigrants.

“Words almost fail to describe the threat this bill poses to our national and economic security,” said Tancredo. “By legalizing the millions upon millions of illegal aliens in the U.S., Specter makes a mockery of our laws and crushes our already strained legal immigration system. The American people will not stand by idly as this unmitigated disaster makes its way through the Senate.”

In addition to its massive amnesty, Specter’s bill does almost nothing to secure our porous borders from illegal immigrants—whether they come for work or for more nefarious purposes. For example, Congress has already authorized at least 10,000 new Customs and Border Protection officers; Specter wants to hire a paltry 250. Since 1996, Congress funded a functional entry-exit system for immigration screening (known as US-VISIT)—the Administration still has not implemented the program, and Specter’s bill merely calls for a timeline for implementation. The House reform bill authorized more than 700 miles of border fencing; Specter’s bill calls for yet another study into a fence.

“Specter substitutes studies for security and wide-open employment for enforcement. Waving the white flag and retreating from the border is no solution to our immigration woes,” said Tancredo. “Apparently Specter thinks that if we make illegal behavior legal, our border security problems will go away. Appeasing lawbreakers does nothing to block terrorists from sneaking into the U.S. or root out terrorists who might already have gotten in.”

On top of processing the 13 million or more illegal aliens, Specter’s bill crushes the already strained legal immigration system with a new class of guest workers with no numerical limit and a loophole for student green cards.

“Millions more legal immigrants on top of a mass amnesty will overwhelm our agencies,” said Tancredo.

Go Tom!!!

Arlen "fuckstick" Specter can shove that bill up his ass and break it off!

Maybe these business as usual politicians such as Specter will regret someday not listening to the American people. Evidently they think they are kings instead of ELECTED representatives.

Does this insane piece of legislation have any chance of becoming law?

It's getting to that point. Something drastic (yet legal) is needed here. This shit is only to get worse, not better. We are being invaded and only one person in DC acutally seems prepared to defend our borders.

I get to vote for him to be a Rep. I would love to cast a vote for him as POTUS.

Tancredo has my vote if he runs for president. Like he said he took his oath to the US not the Demo crates or Republicans.

Last time the bastards passed an amnesty law they promised us it would be the last amnesty and that they would fix the problems that required them to have one. They fucking lied!

Those of you too young to remember the last amnesty and the empty promises, just assume that we will be required to have one about every 20 years to really "fix the problem"

Time to VOTE THESE LAZY, SELF SERVING BASTARDS OUT OF OFFICE.

Goofy. You would have thought they would have learned back when Reagan tried it. I would expect this kind of shit from the Democrats - treason is their hallmark. But I would have expected more from the Republicans.

Arlen Specter should be made to go to the southern border and run through a gauntlet of Border Patrol Agents, where each of them would slap him in the face. Not punch him, like you'd do to a man, but just slap him for being such a liberal American sell-out. Man, he's a disgrace.

But isn't it better to reward illegal activities for a better, more diverse America.

It must be, our elected representatives wouldn't do the WRONG thing, would they?

it's not the wrong thing as far as they're concerned, they just have different priorities than we do.
