I'm looking for a decent web based chat software.  Where the client doesn't need to install anything.

I have tried "php my chat", it was alright but not very robust.  

I've looked at phpopenchat.org/ and it looks better.  Does anyone have any experience with php or java based chat programs that they like?

There are a bunch of web portals to IRC.  Then you've got the best of both worlds, you can roam with the web based client, or use a full featured IRC client when you have install capabilities.
