Alltel V3c...... I tried MPT and it just wont "find" the phone. I have installed the USB drivers, so it will atleast charge via USB, but thats it.

I bought this at CompUSA:

DBT-120 PersonalAir Wireless USB Adapter, Bluetooth

comes with some programs that will let you do file transfers and such as well as sync contact all thru bluetooth.  You can even make phone calls, send text/SMS messages, etc thru the bluetooth.

Mobile Phone Tools works perfect thru the bluetooth connection (btw - much preferred program for syncing contacts)

I would remove and try to re-install the drivers.  I downloaded MPT for my Alltel V3c this morning without a problem.  Had a lot of fun with the ringtone thread, but the Ma Duce tone wouldn't workm on the phone.

Update your MPT.  Then update it a couple more times.  I had to do that a few times to get it to recognize my Razr.

Motomodders

The above link and howard forums will set you on the right path. Got the v3 silver for me and the wife and i use the hs850 bluetooth.
Modified my volume levels on my BT head set and my phone. Its louder now.

I forgot. When using mobile phone tools have it Autosync the phone on startup

That works all the time

Been there, done it all... MPT, wont "see" my phone. Keeps going through the cycle of needing a "modem".

My razr was a pain in the ass to get to work with MPT initially, I had to power the phone on and off completely with it connected to get it to sync initially.  Strangely enough, after about two or three updates of the software it started working perfectly, and has never had another problem.  Those 50MB updates for MPT are a real pain though, that software always seems to need a new version...
