It may be heavier than shit, but I shoot better with it than any other gun I own! Plus the historical factor rocks. Going from hunting Huns to Bucks is a nice transition.

I hunt with my AR

I took a small Feral hog and a whitetail Doe this year with it.

FAL.

My god is it heavy though.  You start to notice it's there quick.

I just like it though, and if I take something I'd like it to be with a rifle I love to shoot.

M1 Garand for Deer, shot an antelope with a 1903A3.

I'm the brother - yes it is heavy, but I like it.

I probably also should add. Why do we hunt with these guns? Any paticular reason?

My reason is as of now its my only gun that shoots a large enough round to take deer( not saying .223 , id just prefer something bigger)

My Great Grandfather's deer gun was an Enfield, my Grandfather's deer guns include a Krag and Enfield.  I hunt everything with an Ruger M77.

Huntable animals (deer, duck, etc) are all yucky.

FWIW, the local Albertsons gets pissed when you put a couple 7.5 Swiss rounds into the chuck roasts.

I saw a friend at the range recently.  He was telling me about a new AR 6.8 SPC build he had finished.  He had already taken a deer with it.

I use an M14.

My first deer rifle was an SKS.

M4 never really worked out.

My girlfriend uses a Mini-14, her dad uses a sporterized P14/17, and my best friend uses a M1903A1.

Modelo 98 Mauser in 7.65 Arg- took it elk hunting . It was spike only and some A-Ho's poached a couple the day before it opened. Very few were taken that trip. The poachers wer taken though--heard they got 7 years each.

I used to use a sporterized Springfield for hunting elk. I have since upgraded to an M1A.

I am really tempted to use my H&K 91 this year to freak out the bolt action hunting crowd.

I use my AR to hunt coyote and fox all the time.

I plan on using my Hakim to shoot a deer this year, if the Iowa DNR alows for another rifle season in the southern part of the state.

I use mine every year for deer.  You should've seen Ranger Rick trying to figure out if it was loaded in the car.  I walked off behind a bush, came back, and he still hadn't figured it out.
