I'd get a lawyer and an accountant and set up a scheme to hang on to and invest as much of the 15 mil as possible.
Once that's going ... my extended family would become debt free. I'd buy myself a very nice luxury sedan and spend some time seeing the USA and visiting friends and family. Then I'd set up a nice secluded house in the mountains and enjoy my hobbies. |

$2054 and some change responded before reading the other responses |

Invest $7.5 million to make sure my kids are provided for.
Start a fund with the other $7.5 million to pay for the education and welfare of the children of servicemen and women who fall while fighting for this country. |
That's just for 1 mil. For 15 mil, you get 30 chicks at the same time. |
+1 Exactly what I was thinking. |
Put it in my checking account at 1.2% and spend it where and when I want. I'm 49 years old and would'nt care about investing it or buying a buisiness or any of that crap. Take care of my Parents and sisters and there kids. Buy a nice piece of property for my local rifle & pistol club to include a 25 yard indoor range also. Oh' and maybe pay someone to fix that drippy faucet in my basement.
At 1000 dollars a day, it would take you 20 years to spend 7.3 Million. Could you do that?
$1.5 million to church
$1 million trust to support other charities $1 million make sure my kids have best education possible. $1million make sure my parents, sister and my wife's Mom and sisters are debt free. $1million would buy at least 500 acres of land around here, maybe more. $1.5 million to build completely self-sufficient home - Solar powered, well and water treatment, sewage treatment etc - with traditional style dojo in back. $1 million on toys Firearms Books Steinway Concert Grand Home Entertainment System Rock Climbing Gear Fishing Equipment $1 million on transportation New Truck New Car for Wife A Car for each of the 5 kids Boat Invest the rest. |
Buy a 100 acre+ ranch outside of Austin that had views for miles. Then build a 5000 square foot million dollar home on it. It would have a walk-in safe gun-room with a $1 million collection of NFA weapons. Then retire and enjoy myself surrounded by peace and quiet. No investing. I'd be happy drawing 5% interest.

Fill the gas tank on my truck.
Invest the $20 or so that is left. |

I don't EVEN have to think about this. 1/2 would IMMEDIATELY go into a high-interest bearing whatever (that's "safe") I'm not a financial person, so, I don';t know WHAT (but then, that's what accountants are for The OTHER 1/2 I could "play" with. That would go toward further education, mostly in "Alternativ Health" areas, but SOME "Traditional" as well. Then whenever THAT was finished, (probably a few years away, 2 minimum a LOT od interest coupld compound in 2 years) I'd open a clinic in Columbus, OH, w/ "branches" in Cleveland, Cincinnati and my "home" county, probably in BOTH Milford Center AND Marysville. But nothing TOO "fancy". I'd set up the $ structure so that it paid for itself, but no so it made a lot of $$. IMO, people intelligent enough (or "desperate" enough to come to an alternative clinic, shouldn't BE "fleeced".
I'd also get new vehicles for me, my parents, grandparents and sis, uncle and probably also for about 1/2 dozen or so of my friends (and YES, I DO know who they are, they are the ones who DIDN'T treat me any differently when they "found out" I was a lesbian, and who stuck by me when I fell ill w/MS. Adversity has a way of doing that Then set up trust funds w/$1 million for my parents, grandparents, uncle and sis (from the "play" $) where THEY couldn't TOUCH the principal, but the interest was paid to them to do with as they pleased. Then I'd buy a GOOD deal of land somewhere BETWEEN where I live NOW and Columbus (probably) and build a small "community" probably have my cousin's construction company build it, VERY "energy efficient/sufficient" I'd actually help build much of it as would my dad and uncle, to help cut costs, and we'd let my cousin's company work JUST when they were slow, so we could get the family discount. (But I'd be sure he was paid WELL - and they'd ALL EAT well while they were here working - they're in WV). I'd only need 6 or 7 buildings initially. (me, parents, grandparents, sis, uncle, 1 or 2 friends) but eventually, I'd have 24. But NOT "killer" extravagant homes. Simple, decent, energy efficient, size/design would vary per individual(s) occupying them. I'd want mine to be an "underground" home. and there'd be a place up top for the cats to go and be "outside" w/o being outside ENOUGH to get fleas and the like. (cat run). I'd also set up some sort of "continuing education" deal with the "Alternative Health" clinics, so that employees could stay "up" on newly discovered treatments. That's about it. Live off of the interest of 7.5 (8?) mil.... hopefully I'd be able to let ALOT of the interest compound. I live pretty cheap.... so IMO, totally "doable". |
I could probably be pretty profitable as the ONLY FFL/SOT in this area with a "full auto" 100yd indoor range.
don't know. i'd probably take a cool million to pay off my student loans and medical bills, buy two M16A2's, and invest. the rest would go to family and friends. i really don't want that much... |
Like kane in Kung-Fu? /pupl fiction |

Immediate family would get somewhere around $300K each - enough to make things comfortable but not enough to quit their jobs. Set up education trusts for my nieces and nephew - $50K into each's fund (since they're young, by the time they're ready for college there'd be plenty for them to go anywhere they desired.)
$1M would go into a separate financial account with annual profit designated for various charities or non-profits I choose to give to. Acquire something in the area of 50-100 acres including woods, water, etc. for a custom home. I think I'd need to have a 1000 meter range on the land which could serve as a fee-based range. Arfcom team members welcome, free of charge, of course! Non-team members would pay $24. I'd be getting one of these: Ford GT Heritage in the Gulf Oil color scheme. |
1) Sell current house and buy something on the water here in SC
2) Pay for my parents debt buy them a house 3) Pay my debt 4) Buy several NFA weapons 5) Invest the rest 6) Enjoy |
Damn, I'm sorry man, you need 15 mil to do that????
Yeah, I'd have to say I'd have a fullauto range built near the homewstead. And part of the "play $" would go to firearms, but I have a problem paying the gov't for the "privlege" of owning a full-auto..... and kinda tend to think I'd not "go there" .... but I could be wrong |

I'd have some velvet portraits done of myself, a big fountain built in the foyer of my house like scarface, and buy a couple of gold plated AK's and a gold plated colt python.
And get my wife a boob job. Then I'd wake up from my daydream and get my ass back to work. |
Order pizza delivered, do two chicks at the same time, then NOTHING.
1. Pay off all bills
2. Build a new house 3. Put the rest in the bank |
I really dont think $15 million would cover what I would want to do
But I would give it a hell of a try |
invest it, and live off the interest. at 3%, a $15 mil CD generates $450k per year.
- BMW M3 / M5 - House - AI AWM

I would finally put 89 octane in my car and ask for a soda instead of water at a restaurant...
Pay off debts, set at least half aside for investment for later, buy a house in Texas and a vacation home in CA, get ready for a family and continue to go to school and learn. Maybe build a farm somewhere to keep myself occupied.
I'd keep my home, pay off my debt and my close family members debt and then I'd get a private jet and travel the world.
Rodent...consider yourself "on call." |
-Hire a good money manager
-Set up trusts for the family -Contribute to my church and other worthy groups -Nice secluded home in Texas, maybe somewhere near Bandera or thereabouts -Another secluded home on a nice lake, maybe in Colorado or another Rocky Mountain state -Buy a big-ass gun safe for each of those secluded homes, and get to fillin' em up! |
I would do the same as most people on this board.
Absolutely nothing. |

He was planning to be a bum. I'll have a fully-stocked RV. |

+1 I would spend cash lobbing for .. my interests. |
See how long it would take for my "friends" to find me. After I spent the first mil I would have to check into Betty Ford or spend a few months out on the hill.
invest the shit out of it, after buying a car or something to keep me occupied for awhile
live off the interest, never touch (and actually increase) the amount of money you own. most of the 'high risk' stock programs make like 8%. multiply 0.08 x 15,000,000 and tell me you couldnt live off that for a year. then lets assume you did a really really safe one that made 2% (not on your own, doing one of those companies). i could live off that for like 4 years. |
Pay off the house
Buy a fishing boat and a condo in Key West Buy a few hundred acres of hunting and shooting land in the boonies Invest the rest Retire |
