Notwithstanding,

Love is simply the anthropomorphicization of the breeding impulse. The taking of one of our ordinary urges and the uneccessary elevation of it into something sacrosanct. This is not without its reasons or benefits. that however does not change the fact that it is a lie, or more accurately a distortion.

It isn't a breeding impulse, it's a nurturing impulse. Biologically, they are mutually exclusive.

Valentines day is the day invented by   greeting card companies and chocolate factories to sell more crap.  It is a day pushed by women to shake you down for jewels, and you pay up in the hopes that it is the one day a year you will get some pie.
