I work with a few guys that must think soap and deoderant are products of the devil. They stink all the time....it's enough to bring tears to your eyes. Is it really that hard to take a shower??

I don't use soap. It dries out my skin. I use moisturized body wash.

EDITED. Sorry, I was caught by the spelling police while spelling police the original poster. My bad.

Man's got to know his limitations. And people limit their contact with me when I limit my contact with soap.

My Ukranian roommates don't believe in dish soap. They just rinse the dishes with hot water and an unsoapy sponge. It seems to speard grease around on the dishes, with actually cleaning them. The guy is convinced that soap is bad, that using soap on dishes will leave a thin film of toxic soap particles behind. Crazy Ukranians.

Germs are just a conspiracy made up by soap companies.

The antibacterial soap craze is a conspiracy for sure.

With that, I leave you with this:

[a christmas story] Over the years I got to be quite a connossieur of soap. Though my personal preference was for Lux, I found that Palmolive had a nice, piquant after-dinner flavor - heavy, but with a touch of mellow smoothness. Life Buoy, on the other hand... YECCHH! [/a christmas story]

Americans are possibly the cleanest people in the world, in terms of hygene. To the extent that we even use products like anti-bacterial everything, which actually has the potential to make bacterial problems worse! lol.. we some funny people!

Gunshows and similar events, a common problem is people go there early, often without showering first. They're usually on weekends, so people get excited and rush out the door, opposed to sleeping in, then showering as they'd normally do. Compound that problem with higher than comfortable temps inside and/or being over-equipped with clothing. No excuse for smelling offensive, but chances are high that its from laziness, not an aversion to soap.

I lived in Canada for about a year... now THEM people, largely, don't believe in soap!
Here its the fact that a large european culture still exists, where people believed washing was unhealthy. Toronto has a flea market which is always packed, features a lack of fresh oxygen, and requires a gas mask. I would'nt really want to visit any crowded places in Europe. At least it seems most of Canada's population uses toilet paper.

I'm not even going to touch the third world topic.
But 3rd world would also be a good descriptor for the smells commonly found in stores and such places frequented by ghetto folk. Since soap and deodorant can both be had for $2, I really don't understand that problem... but entire stores exist here that I cannot bear walking into.

I wash my hands frequently, shower daily, use anti-perspirant, and even some cologne.
I appreciate others who do the same.

right on about Europe... go into any large dept store in France - aisle after aisle of perfume, cologne etc... try to find soap and the soap you do find doesnt have the anti bacterial stuff you find in the US soap. I have gone to some crowded night clubs in Paris in the summer... combine that with the unshaven pits on the chicks....

personally, I like the Kiehls tea tree oil body shampoo, that and the Old spice pit stick I am good for 12 hours of anything

I dont use hand soap or bar soap, I perfer dishwashing soap.

dishwashing soap does the best jod of rinseing off, there no lotion or shit in it, and doesn't leave a filmy feeling, I hate all hand soap because I can smell it on my hands and that really bugs me.

Fabric softner is even worse , it makes my cloathes feel all slimy.
