My Dad, a Depression Kid/WWII vet, considers that the real "Greatest Generation".

When faced with true risks, Americans come together to meet the threat.  The problem with the current generation is that in our "fast paced, everything now, instant gratification" society, too many forget too quickly what the true threat is and want results immediately.  If they realized how long it took to completely pacify Germany after WWII, they would be nothing but impressed with what our soldiers are doing in Iraq.

Our finest generations IMHO

founding fathers, Confederate soldiers, both WWars, Korea, Nam and now....

Some may disagree with the confederacy, but they were basically doing the exact same thing as our founding fathers.
