CNN Headline News signs talker Beck
NEW YORK, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Conservative talk radio host Glenn Beck is taking his message to TV with a new hour-long show on CNN's Headline News cable channel.
CNN recruited Beck for its new primetime lineup in an effort to build on the popularity of its "Nancy Grace" show, Daily Variety reports.
Headline News President Ken Jautz told Variety he views Beck as "the next piece of the puzzle."
"Glenn's style is self-deprecating, cordial; he says he'd like to be able to disagree with guests and part as friends," Jautz said. "It's conversational, not confrontational."
Beck has moved his studio from Philadelphia to New York to be closer to the Headline News studios, Variety said.
His show is scheduled to debut on the cable news channel in April.
