It's a Colt 1911 in an unproven caliber.

If your wife calls from the jewelry store, your only possible answer is, "Of Course Dear, that sounds like a smokin' deal.  Pick up some ammo on the way home."

Unproven? You mean like the 40S&W is unproven?

Please don't confuse the fella. The .40 Short & Weak is the feminine version of the 10 mm.

Exactly. I have respect for the 40S&W, no matter what anybody says about it, but with properly loaded rounds, the 10mm can be a truly fearsome round.

Well...  Wife says to be fair, she should get to buy a new pair of shoes.

I get a Colt, and she wants a pair of shoes.  Cool.

I doubt I'll object, as long as I don't have to go shoe shopping with her.

For my Glock 20, it is easy to do a caliber swap from 10mm to 40.

Is it as easy to do with a 10mm Colt?

just the fact that you are getting grief from the wife requires me to ask for return of your man card.

But he gets to keep it because he's willing to buy a 10mm.  Most "men" find it just too beastly to handle .

I'll take a hot-loaded full-size 10mm over just about any handgun caliber.  I especially enjoy shooting it at a range with all the Tupperware.  Anything all metal and not black gets most city folks all stirred up.  If it ain't a Glock it must be illegal!
