I know that AZ put people on the border and declared a state of emergency

but could TX, NM and AZ permanently station troops on the border with Mexico?

would that be legal?

how would it happen?

Why couldn't the state's Natl. Guard be called up for such duty?

If called up by the governor aren't they exempt from Posse Commititus(?) ?

Or the state could form its own militia.  Texas has one, though its not really set up to be a permanent border patrol force.

Think about it, how would it look if the media openly ridiculed a state for trying to protect it sovereignty?  Besides the libs would have an easier time calling you or anyone else a whackjob if they tried it but it would be more difficult to say the same about a state.
