I need to weld a new crossmember bar on my 38 chevy. Also I need to repair some rust through on the floor. I would like to find a cheap mig or tig welder to do this. Any suggestions?

you can get a flux core mig at harbour freight for 100 bucks on sale, normall 200 ( IIRC )

it wont be the nicest welder but it will do the job, also get an auto darking helmet for 50 bucks, it will make the welding much eaiser.

no some one will chime in not to get the flux core but for heavier gauge metal, and being outside where it can be windy it will be fine

You could get that done nicely with a 70amp+ DC smaw machine.
