So, I am having a hard time sleeping last night. I get up in the middle of the night and goof off for a bit. When I get sleepy again, I get worried I may fall asleep too hard to hear the alarm. So I stay up. Around 6 I get the uniform on and head in to the hanger, arriving about 15 minutes early. As I sit in the office, I start thinking that EVERYONE in my area is gonna be late it looks like.
Then I realize, hrmmm I have not heard anyone come in. At 7, I look outside and no cars but mine. I'm thinking WTF? I drive to the security checkpoint at the main airfield gate, and the guard tells me it's a federal holiday. Doah!!!  I am now home and going back to bed. Aviator |

It's not odd. Pilots are know for bad spelling. The only thing they can do with out instruction or help is tell every one that they're a pilot. Besides he didn't have a member of the ground crew helping him type the post. |

Even after reading this post about the .gov being closed for the holiday I left the house to go to the Post Office and the bank. For some reason I thought they would be open. I guess not.
