I inherited an Model RG 23 .22 revolver.

It seems to be in good shape. Would you shoot it if you were me?

Sure, shoot it a few times then put it away for your kids to fight over someday when you croak.

Test fire, clean it up, new ammo, zip loc bag, crown royal bag, save for a time when you need it.

Anyone have any info on the company and gun?

I should have titled it "Is it safe to shoot"?

IIRC the little RGs had a potmetal frame and used a pressed in or cast in steel liner for the actual barrel.  Cheap firearms that are one step up the ladder from a sharp stick.  OTOH, I had a RG .38 special that was well made and went bang everytime.

An RG? I wouldn't waste my time trying to shoot one of those. If it has sentimental value, great, clean it up and keep it to pass on. Shooting it tho, bleh, I've left turds that were made better then some of the RGs I've seen.

RGs were just little crappy imported guns made from ZAMAC [zinc alloy] I believe, with cast parts and were known to go out of time VERY quickly, sometimes with just a few cylinder fulls of ammo.
