I have noticed that officers wear 2 different color shirts with their dress uniform. 1 is light colored and the other is a very dark colored. There had to be a reason for this, anyone have any insight on this?

Seasonal, if I remember correctly. Dark color in winter, lighter in summer.

I don't think so.......They were both worn in the pics I have seen.

The uniform went through many changes during the war, and it was rare for an entire unit to have the same uniform due to this. Also the dark officers "chocolates" were a private purcahse/optional item but not issued.
