you have the stg parts on a dsa receiver. is the rest of the gun consistant with the stg? without specially stamping the receiver for you, which i dont even know if dsa will do, thats as close as you are going to get.

All their recievers say SA58, IIRC.

Thanks for the responses.

Here a a lame pic of the rifle.  I had to work quick and get it back into the safe before my wife saw it.  She'd kick my ass if she knew I bought another rifle.

Sigh, I'm so whipped.  I'm so ashamed.

It IS an StG58...The receiver is just marked SA58, but it looks like an StG58 kit on it.

Don't go by just the receiver markings..I bet all their receivers say that, regardless of how they're built.

Hey I bought the exact same rifle about 18 months ago. Since then, I've put CASES of crappy .308 ammo through it. I think I've cleaned it twice.

Yet it keeps on going. One thing though, I've had to turn the gas-plug to the adverse-condition setting.

By the way, aint it great being able to buy $8 magazines? Woooo hoooo !

Read the tale of Ol' Dirty if you dare.....

Ol' Dirty

ETA: for those too lazy to read to the end of that thread, it has over 10K rounds without cleaning.  Still functions perfectly.

Congrats, you have purchased one of the finest FALs ever made.

You have a reciever machined, not cast, to original Steyre blueprints and the entire thing is heat treated.  It will outlast you.

DSA states that the barrel of the STG58 is not new.  However, this one looks bright, shiny and without any visible pits, burrs or abuse.
Cool.

I think they are not "new" but were bought by the ton from armories that stocked them as replacement parts. So they may very well be unfired.

It's... it's... beautiful man.

You're gonna be stoked. More kicks, and with surplus ammo, not much more than .223 fodder. You gonna add glass since you've got the tripod?

DSA imported the Stg58 parts, but a new USA receiver is required.

All of their receivers say "SA58."  The receiver is their in-house, forged receiver--the finest on the market IMO.

The other parts are NOS parts they purchased years ago to make these guns.  Chances are that the rest of the gun has new parts that have never been installed until now.

My Stg 58 is the same, and is super nice.

Worth all of the $700 I paid for it.
