Grabbed these from 1919a4.com

This Garand belongs to Art Linkloader, who customized it using pyrography (wood burning).

Nice work.  Not my style.

At least it's not an NRA commemorative gold-plated Pimp rifle.

I suppose the dude with the halo is not the patron saint of firearms, he's John Garand?

I like my rifles plain, but that guy definitely put some work into the stock.

No, that would be John Moses Browning.

Sheesh!  I'd think you'd have known that one.

At least it is easily fixed by dropping it in a new stock, no permanent damage has been done.

It is interesting work. I can't imagine being patient enough to finish a project like that.

A little garish if you ask me.

I think they look best with a classic "well worn" look.

Not my thing.

craftmanship is superb, but I would NEVER have done that to an american classic.

I think its awesome.   I would hang that in my house, I wouldn't take it to the range

It is a nice try... the eagle is decently executed. Everything else is quite amateurish and in the wrong proportion. Some things just don't look good on a wooden stock, no matter how well they're executed. The barren, pebble-ish surface of the fore area is hideous. He should've kept the theme consistent. I think Linkloader would benefit greatly from a few formal art classes. Some people need formal training to bring out their creative abilities and others don't. He is in the former group.

This guy has promise.

Hopefully he got his creative frustration out on an aftermarket stock (it looks like it, anyway).
I'm not putting down the man's talent and skill, but that's just not my idea of nice.

Still it doesn't look quite as bad as that camo'd abortion of a Garand that somebody (DVDTracker?) got saddled with.  Sorry dude, but that thing was just fucking ugly.

What a horrible fucking abomination of a Garand

I apreciate the talent but, it looks somewhat bizzare and really takes away from the "natural beauty" of the rifle.

I saw one of these at the last gun show at market hall.

Hard to believe more than one was made, it looks horrible.

Good Lord-what was this guy thinking? It's the firearms equivalent of Elvis Presley paintings on black velvet.

I can only imagine what's gonna happen when he gets hold of an AK or SKS.....

Rates right up there with nature scenes painted on old  bucking saw blades and clocks made from circular saw baldes. Guns are tools, not art canvas'

Isn't that George Bush 1 on the right side?

In most cases, less is more. Including this one.
