I remember a thread on here a few weeks ago about Elton John.

I finanlly found out what Daniel is about.  EJ played it at this concert at Ceasar's Palace, that happened to be on TV and he explained it.  When he first got the lyrics from Bernie he thought it was too long so he crossed out the last stanza, that was where the song was explained.

Its about a guy, maybe an older brother, who was either a pilot or flew in bombers, was badly wounded, blinded, and then died.
