I bought an old truck that has a hydraulic powered snow plow.  It has an electric motor that powers the hydraulics.

Is any type of hydraulic fluid OK to use?

I run ATF....like Mercron III...good to -55 below....have it in all my pumps. If you think it's really gonna get cold, there is Artic Blue or Arctic Fox fluid that is supposed to be rated to a bit lower temp. My pumps ride down the highway in Minnesota all winter long, and I have no prob with freeze up.
