I ordered some tannerite.   It came with a spoon and the DVD.   Am i to guess that it is one level or heaping spoon to a half pound target?

Thanks

Level works for me.

I didn't get any greater results using more activator.

Edited to add: If you haven't ever tried this stuff before hang on to your socks!

Level it.

When I first mixed tannerite, it didn't go boom.
I phoned and asked about it, they told me to level it and follow the instructions to the letter.
After doing as they told me, KABOOM!

How big is the spoon?  (I didn't get one)  Is it a teaspoon, tablespoon, etc?

Looks like half way between a teaspoon and a tablespoon.   I only got one with two cases but it should do!

Should be level.  The older stuff required a heaping spoon but not the newer more sensitive mix.

If you add a bottle of fuel you get something like this Da Bomb  10MB Quicktime video

I like a bit less than a level spoon full.

level or a little bit less...

I use just a hair less than a level spoonful. If you use more, then you'll run out of gray powder before you get to yout last bottle.

Being lazy and not wanting to waste the stuff (since it's more expensive than dynamite), I tend to more than level the spoon because I want to be sure.  My sour experiences are with the older product that wasn't as sensitive.  I purchased an extra container of the sensitizer so I wouldn't run out while being allowed to overfill my spoon on every load for many cases.  It's pretty disappointing to just shoot a hole in your charge and watch it pour out.

Order more sensitizer. I never had one fail to go off due to too much. I had several of my last batch go to waste because it a sensitive.

Just use about a level spoonful maybe a lil more. I had probably 5-6 tsp left of the sensitizer after a case. But if you've never done tannerite before, mix it all together until it is all grey and then get way back 100yds, make sure it isnt near anything that is going to make shrapnel, and shoot it with something fairly fast. Ive had no problems, with .223, 7mag, .270, 30.06, the new mix is supposed to be more sensitive.  Better not do it close to any neighbors, they will call the Cops.  Have fun and be SAFE

Shot two half pounders.   Left 2.5lbs for my brother and he said it was rather impressive.    Will set off a couple of 2 liter bottle sized charges over christmas.    That should be the end of my 2 cases and time to order more

2 liter bottles and 5 gallon Buckets

Are you guys insane? Is there an amount that actually becomes wasteful and doesnt fully detonate or does it just make a bigger boom.

Im going to do a little test of shaped charges and such with the next 2 cases that i ordered yesterday. Ive done a pound on 2 occasions and that was just insane as to what it would do to old stumps.

I was told that to tell a difference you have to double the charge each time. 2,4,8,16,32,64,etc....

This is a FULL 5 gallon water container, not half a five gallon bucket that other HTFs claim to be a full 5 gallons Just over 100 bottles, or 50+ pounds of tannerite.

My friends and I are to the point where a half pounder is no longer enough, it is an addiction.

Looks more like 2 1/2 gallons, with 5 gallons of  wholewheat flour.

EDIT for spelling.

You haven't been here and done this.  My ealier link (Da Bomb) is a 7-1/2lb charge with 4 liters of liquid fuel to produce a fireball.  That was a test leading up to the real bomb - 5gl FULL Bucket with probably 20-40 gallons of fuel.  Our test bomb was one in a series of controlled fuel/tannerite bombs building up to the full 5gl+fuel.  If there is someone who has already done 5gl bucket WITH fuel, I'd sure like to see/hear about it.  We want the big rolling fireball to compliment the concussive blast.  We are doing this in a very controlled and safe manner, not recklessly.  Funwand had 50 (or it may have been 70) cases of Tannerite so he regularly blew 2 liter and gallon jugs of the stuff, anything less is boring to him.  That's when we decided to experiment with a fuel enhanced blast.  I don't recommend this to anyone who won't take the proper precautions and it is most definitely NOT recommended by the manufacture of Tannerite and NOT intended to be used this way.

Of course the 55gal drum full of Tannerite has already been done by Dan himself and one other I believe.  When asked about it, he said you don't want to go there...
