Microsoft Flight Simulator. A certain add-on PMDG 747-400 www.precisionmanuals.com/ worked with the first release and a subsequent patch, however, it had some bugs in the code. Well, now the patch, a major revision, won't work unless I turn the sound off when the sim boots to the panel. Once I hit the Q key (sound on or off in game), the game crashes and gives me a "unknown module error". The developers claim since I'm only one of a small minority of people the problem's on my end. I've tried different/new sound drivers, uninstall/reinstall, changing or replacing other files, and everything suggested by them to get this POS to work. It won't work, so the one gauge developer says he can do a remote session with me, but I have every security feature known to man turned on (e.g., services disabled) and the XP remote assistance feature would be a bitch to turn on. I'm not real crazy about that idea anyhow. So, can anyone here think of why this fucker would be crashing from sound when no other add-on I have in MSFS has caused this? Any suggestion for troubleshooting would be appreciated. |
