We've all talked about China lately and the size of their standing Army and possible intentions/conflicts involving them. I was at the grocery store last night and was kind of shocked to see Soldier of Fortune at a Kroger's. Anyway, there was an article about the amphibious and naval capabilities of the reds. The way SOF made it sound, they have a large enough navy and military to attempt an invasion on the U.S. even with the logisitcal nightmare. It occured to me that with the war in Iraq and the likely war in Iran they might get a wild hair up their ass and try something. I know it's a longshot, but it wouldn't be the first time someone has pulled some stupid shit with us. The thought scares the hell out of me. Time to go buy a new shotty Does racking the slide scare commies too? Seriously though, am I the only one that thinks there is a chance they may try something, or should I just shut up?

Well,there is ALWAYS a chance,heck they could nuke us and EMP us until they think they have us where they want us and then invade,then it would be up to the people of the survival forum to do what we talk about doing and making a stand.  I'm not sure if racking the slide scares commies or not. It would suck to have to find out though. |
Nice new Avatar.  That will not happen in the near future IMO. Like in all INVASIONS ... they would have to have something to gain out of it. Invading the US IMO would spell more "trouble" for them than any percieved gain they may have. Taiwan on the other hand is "easy" picking for them. This is assuming that Taiwan does not have invoke any mutual defense agreement with the US.

Impossible. You don't invade the worlds only super power with a brown water navy. I suppose if the USN was all at a port call in Brazil when the ships from China - hundreds and hundreds of ships from China started crossing, and the USAF were all down in Flordia for a really big party, and the USMC were all home on leave, and the USA were all off to Kosovo that the LAPD would be able to rally the Crips and the Bloods to repel the invaders. A more likely senerio is to invade us the same way we did the USSR ... economically. China and India graduate like 10 times as many engineers from their colleges than we do. Wars are fought economically too. We're losing ours hand over fist. |
| An amphibious invasion of the west coast of the US by China would have to be preceeded by a whole scale EMP attack or small to medium scall nuke strike against the US first. Without doing this, the US would have way more than enough time and resources to defeat any invasion fleet long before it arrived. |
