There should be a list of contraindications that comes with every prescription.  Off the top of my head I would say no.  Didn't your doctor ask you if you were currently taking anything?

I would say yes, but call the pharmacist they will tell you call a 24hr walgreens, but i have personally takne vicodin and antibitoics together given to me at the same time by a dentist, so i would say your good to go, just dont drink beer or alchohol with anibiotics. now if you where only taking vicodin then..................

You have common meds for a UTI or urinary tract infection.  The first one is Bactrim and the second is Pyridium.  You should have no problems with the taking the Vicoden in addition to the meds mentioned but adding Vicoden for a UTI is kind of wierd.  Unless you have a concomminant condition or its more serious then a UTI.

Good luck and as a disclaimer I can only work with I the info you gave in this post. I have no idea of any allergies or other medical conditions that you may suffer from.  The info is strictly for use at your own risk or entertainment purposes.

I'd say triple the vicodin dosage, get the buzz, and see just how plugged up you can get.

I broke my back 5 yrs. ago and was given vicodin as a pain killer.

I didn't poop for 3 days...then went with the E-Bomb.

Spent 2 hrs in the potty.

I have a bladder infection. It is hurting pretty bad right now. I have some Vicodin leftover from when my wisdom teeeth were cut out. I was hoping the vicodin would help with the pain from the bladder infection.

you can absolutely take vicodin and your antibiotics at the same time, assuming as ardoc mentioned that you are not allergic.

two things to keep in mind

first, taking multiple meds, especially including narcotics, may increase your odds of an upset stomach, and secondly, narcotics can remove some of the urge to pee, which is counterproductive with a uti, you want to stay well hydrated, and flush everything out, so drink alot, and pee often

The pyridium is a bladder desensitizer so the pain will subside with its use. If I were you I would rather not take the vicoden unless its only for the first day or so.   If the antibiotics are working the symptoms should subside in 24-48 hours.

The real question is how did you get a bladder infection?

If youre a female, its important to remember to always pee right after the act.  Will keep the UTIs to a minimum.

Just in case they didn't wrn you - the pyridium may change the color of your urine to an orangish color -this is normal.

Yes no interaction, long as you are not allergic to APAP or Hydrocodone.

PS what did you get some bad puntang?

Sometimes this place amazes me.  There's more information in this thread than you could drag out of a doctor in person, and it didn't take the hours and hours of time wasted in the waiting room to be granted your 30 seconds with the doctor.z

it's been 30 hours since I took my first pill and I already feel SO much better.  I opted to go to sleep last night instead of taking the Vicodin.  It was probably the  most horrible pain i've had next to kidney stones and childbirth.

2 docs, and a nurse for sure.  And no one else gave incorrect advice, except for recreational zippy the wonderdog, and we all knew he was joking.

Pyridium in a wonderful medication.  I really do not understand why it is not ordered more often.  It will be more effective than the hydrocodone in this situation, now a stone is a different story.  Terrible pain that is!  Hope you feel better.

Other then the discomfort due to the high concentration of any antibiotic in the urine, antibiotics  are usually given alone.  There is no difference for the use of pyridium beyond 2 days as studies show at that point the result and symptoms are the same.  So pyridium with antibiotics beyond 2 days is a big waste of money.

And there is it is money.  It costs the insurances more for multidrug therapy then one.  So many insurances will not cover pyridium.  There are generics out there but even then some insurances will balk at it because in 2 days with antibiotics alone the results are the same.  Its for comfort only and comfort comes at a premium.  Literally in this case.
