I'm posting this from a Knoppix live CD. I'm redoing my sever and all the computers on my network.That was started about 2 weeks ago. Just can't work up the ambition after 10-12 hour days, doing the same thing.

NO, this is PCLINUXOS. Ive tried Knoppix, Mepis (pretty good), Kubuntu (sucks), but they never did everything I wnated them to. Then I tried PCLINUXOS. Mostly because the creator is from Houston, TX, and Im from Groves, TX (90 miles away), but I really like it. I just works. Everything, DVD movies, streaming video and audio, P2P. All I can say is WOW!!!! TEXSTAR really put some thought into making this distro. I highly recomend it. By the way, it also comes on a LIVE-CD.

I din't think I'm ready to jump into Gentoo Yet. I just started messing with Linux in August.  I have heard that RR4 is a Gentoo distro on a Live-DVD, and that you can install it as a level 3 install, whatever that means.

I've used Mandrake (now Mandriva) for the most part.

PCLINUXOS ib based on Mandriva, but has it's own RPM repositories. I was kinda skeptical about RPMs because I was used to .deb files, but TEXSTAR makes sure that his RPMs are correctly written and stable.
