Two weeks ago on Fox tv (satellite) started this Stev Bochco new serial set in the current Iraq conflict. I am sick and tired of shoot-n-run "action"movies, so this was, on certain extent, very interesting. Good: The psychology of the characters is well done The equipment/weapon aspect is VERY WELL cured The plot is not a "happyending" or "PC", as in the reality Bad: - plot development is VERY slow - some time frame is NOT so clear (as one moment the grunts were using AN/PVS4 to shoot in the dark the terrorist during a gunfight, the moment after it was already in daylight) - stories are too much fractioned, much more the "soap opera" techique than Spielberg in SPR or Ridley Scott in BHD. In Italy we say "too much meat on the fire...". Going to record some episodes. One perplexity: one of the guys shoots the insurgents, killing on the spot TWO of them, usig a Trijicon optics on his M4. The reticle is NOT the Mildot I was expecting. Is it real or... |
