Has anyone on this board applied for one? Can anyone tell me how long it might take the PIN to be issued? I've been delayed on every purchase since I've started replacing my collection I sold off 10 years ago. My last purchase before I sold off the collection was for a SIG at a gun show in SW Colorado in 1996, took about 3 minutes to get approved. Now I'm delayed every time. No big deal, usually within 3 days I'd go pick up my rifle. NOW ITS A VERY BIG DEAL. Got all my paperwork together, sent off a pretty large (3 Garands and plenty of ammo) order with the CMP. I was delayed...this next week will make it a MONTH I've been on "delay". CMP has been pretty cool. They told me usually after 30 days they toss the order and I'd have to resubmit. Since I told them I was going to go ahead and submit a VAF, they said they'd hold the order. This week I sent my VAF to the FBI. Pisses me off to no end to have to do this, but I feel I have no choice, especially if I want to pick up on some Garands, and also be able to buy on the CMP online auction. I'm not a felon, no dishonerable discharge, no domestic violence...my name isn't Mohamed....... In fact, while I was living in Colorado, I had a CWP. Curious if anyone else has done the VAF and what was that experience all about. |
