Not a suitcase nuke but say a tactical one like an ASM or AAM warhead.

Here is a fairly complete listing.  If you have questions, ask.

Some of the tactical weapons are pretty small and light, but most are damn big and heavy.

I was reading a thread about Iraq's WMD stuff and the inspector said something about finding a missle that had a 50 kilogram payload.  He said it was probably for a small nuke.

You think the iraqis have the advanced technology necessary to miniturize a nuclear warhead to the size and weight of a 50 kilogram payload.

Are you referring to an African or European laden nuke?

Twice as much as half of it.

Hold on, let me go to my closet and get my suitcase-nuke and then put it on my scale, although I think my scale doesn't go above 200lbs though.

Well the actuall fissile material wouldn't need to be too much I think "fat man" used like 6.2kg of fissile material (litte boy was at  64.1kg IIRC)

It is everything else required to acheive critical mass, that weighs so much.

Your roll the floor thingie is misdirected.  I never stated that the Iraqis could make a miniture nuke.  I was merely stating that a US inspector said regarding payload for a particular missle.  Here's the quote -

"There was the missile inspection on Ma’moun Establishment. I was teamed with two computer forensic specialists. A local technician stood by while we opened a computer and found a flight simulation for a missile taking off from the Iraqi desert in the same area used during the First Gulf War and flying west towards Israel. The warhead was only for 50 kilograms. By the time we understood was this was, the poor technician was coming apart. I will never forget meeting his eyes, and both of us realizing he was a dead man walking. The Iraqis tried to say that the computer had just been transferred from another facility, and that the flight simulation had not been erased from before the war. The document’s placement in the file manager, and the technician’s reaction belied this story. UNSCOM’s original assessment was that this was for a biological warhead, but I have since seen reporting that make me think it was for a nuclear weapon."

Holy crap! I can't believe that info is unclassified. I had to sign tons of forms during debrief to ETS from the Army for my TS clearance. There seems to be way more classed material there than I ever saw.... Of course, my stuff was more comm/crypto and operational intel related to infantry stuff and not tac/strat weapons and delivery systems or SIOP.

The W54 SADM (Special Atomic Demolition Munition) was about 163 pounds, and was designed to be jumped into the theater by special operations personnel.

Neat little toy  Trying to find a pic, which I have seen, of a guy in the door with one between his legs.
