So I just ordered a case the other day.. I have heard some funny stories about this stuff so for my personal safty I was wondering how far should I be from this stuff when I shoot it? Thanks |

Er...depends on your personal risk threshold. I shot 3 targets (not tannerite--but the rimfire stuff from gatlingguns) ranging from about 3/4 to 1.5 lbs from 35 feet away. The first one was so loud that when I went to shoot the second one, I flinched and missed the shot. Shot again and moved directly to #3. That was the big one, and it left a 14 inch wide and 3 inch deep crater in the ground and sprayed me and the camera guys with rocks and dirt. So I would say you should be at least 35 feet away.... |
| I'd go 50 yards minimum for just the target and 100 yards if you're blowing something up with it. We had a chunk of computer case fly about 100 yards and into the spectator area at a shoot once. Shot a 1qt army canteen full today at 100 yards and it was powerful. Don't under estimate how powereful it is. |
Place the charge where it will blow objects AWAY from you. Took about 30 buckets and made a circle stacked 3 high and placed a triple charge in the center of the circle. 100 yards was almost too close. I didn't know five gallon plastic buckets could fly that fast
