Must be a glitch in the Matrix.
Are you changing the type of avatar (jpg to gif, or vice-versa)? Because the photo server actually will store separate avatars for example there are two of them in there under my name, since I changed mine last month and went thru a few until I found one I wanted to use. For example here's the one I use now:  One other one I'd tried out and still shows up in the couple posts I made with it.  This is the one showing up for you now (jpg - the white skull thing on blue background)  And here's your "other" one (gif)
