[ARCHIVED THREAD] - taking the test

I posted this over in the BOTS forum, but am trying here (larger audience):

I have an entrance exam early on Monday, which is about a week after I turned in the app. so I didn't have too much time to prepare (small town in OK). I've never applied to a PD before. What can I expect in the test (which I guess is just the written part)? What is the whole selection process?

Its been too long since I took my test to remember exactly what was asked but what I remember was that most of the questions I was asked I had no clue about so I put "will follow department proceedure" I was the top testing candidate too.

Thats pretty good! Did you make it in?

A lot of folk think I'm crazy for doing this because I'll be taking a 1/2 (or more) cut in pay, but what the heck, see how the other half lives.

I did. I worked for 2 & 1/2 years. Very difficult job. You might check out the LEO forum though - they would have more up todate ideas for you. Patty
