I'm interested in opening a 9 month CD with ING direct. Anyone have any experience with this company? A 9 Month CD yields 4.00%APY & 3.9802% Interest rate (10/13/05). How is the interest compounded? Pro's? Con's? I'd like to invest $2K, what would my return over 9 months be? TIA--VT |

An employee of mine had a savings account with them, and they didn't pay interest. He doesn't read very well so I called the company for him. I never was able to get them to pay the interest they owed. They ignored e-mail, and the people I talked to at 1-888-ING-0727 were useless. I finally was able to get his money transfered out of his account by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. They contacted me back in less than a month, and we got his money transfered out of their savings account into a checking account at a different bank. I was not impressed with them. Their biggest competitor is emigrantdirect.com, so maybe ING isn't that bad. I've tried to help two relatives and three employees login to Emigrant's web site. I'm not convinced it even works at all since their support kept telling me that we had to type-in a number that they would send-out in a letter by postal mail. None of them ever saw one of the letters that they claimed to send. To get the money out of the Emigrant account is very difficult. They tell you on their 1-800 # that they can't do it and you have to do it using the web interface which they don't allow you to login to. My great-nephew got his money back by having his local bank contact Emigrant. The others are leaving their money in the account even though it will be a pain to move it out later.z |
