Wondering if the masses know anything about necking a 7.62x39 case up to say, .355 or .358 diameter.  I'd guess it's been done before, almost everything has...

Any popularity to such round?  Any neat wildcat name attached to it to facilitate google searching?

Necking steel cases can suck.

The .35 Remington is a bit longer and larger than diameter than the 7.62x39's case.  Problem I see is that with the limited case capacity, if you necked up the round, the result would be low-velocity at best.

On a side note, the Russians do have a few special purpose silenced rifles on 9x39, necking up the 7.62x39 to 9mm.  These rounds are subsonic, however.
