Gun safe VS tile floor... I'm having new tile and carpet put in and will need to move the safe around temporarily. The safe is coming out of a carpeted room (to allow new carpet) and will be placed on freshly laid tile. Waiting "days" isn't an option, as the tile and carpet are being put down in about 3 days time How much weight is too much, for new tile after 12-48hrs? 400lbs? 800lbs? 1200lbs? How much time is need before the tile can be exposed to such weight? On a side note move the safe empty or full? I prefer full, as the entire house is getting done, therefore there will be no "safe rooms". |

I think I'd give the tile a few days to set up completely...once the thinset/quickset has dried, you should be fine. If you are having it put in and have workers running around your place, I would recommend moving it full or putting the guns in a location they have absolutely no access. |
