| ...should I be looking at if I want to be a lawyer? |
Yes, absolutely. In fact, many of the engineering professors got into patent law due to their engineering industry experiece. Also, I know a lot of people do History too. I have a feeling concentrating in American History would benefit you more than studying the French Empire of 1700s. |
| I'll pay attention to this thread as well, as my preferred future occupation would be an attorney. However, I will choose to be one of the types that we all like, a lawyer that concentrates on Constitutional law(as opposed to ambulance chasing). I don't think that I could adequately represent a client of a crime that I knew/strongly suspected to be guilty as sin, I'd rather see him fry. Crimminal law is out for me it seems... |
Double major in economics and government (aka poli sci at some schools) without a doubt. But only do this is you are going to a real school. An economic degree from shit hole state university is worthless. Real calculus based economics and good economic theory is not at all easy - and there is a fair amount of interdisciplinary skills you pick up. I know at my university econ majors have to take an entire game theory course. |
LOL Best program i ever experienced was St. John's College and its emphasis on the Socratic Method in class and reading really abstruse books. Perfect for law school, I have no idea what else it's good for. |
