| Can someone please explain to me why citizens always catch law officers kicking the shit out of some black man,but there is never any footage of cops beating down a white,hispanic,or ? Just an observation. I always wanted to be a cop but after a few ride alongs in Ft Lauderdale I changed my mind quickly. Alot of cops are just legalized thugs in my opinion. If you show a man respect you will get it back. But this bullshit of cops drawing down on a traffic stop is fucked up. When film clearly shows most citizens comply with the demands that are issued. |
I'll tell ya a couple reasons why you dont see alot of vids of police beating a white guy; A: Its nearly impossible for whitey to call racist. B: SOME races/minorities just have a problem with whitey, and use every little incident to show that there is widespread racism in America. Just to name a couple. As for the Ride Along in Ft. Lauderdale, that was your first problem...when was this? A couple years ago it came out that there was a HUGE problem with officers using "drop guns" for police shootings. This was within the last 5 years. Not like 5 or 10, but hundreds. Same with west palm beach, theres just too much crime, and the officers dont want the risk, because they sure as fuck dont get paid anything down here! What is it, 28-29K now? It really is a terrible situation, ive talked to multiple cops from S. FL who said it just wasnt worth it, no matter which way you look at it. Now, there of course are smaller local places where it isnt bad. But crime in S. FL will always be huge, not just drugs and gangs, but illegal gun running(Which is also ramapnt). I lived in a nice little upscale town half and hour N of W. Palm for the last 8 years, the police there are OK, but dont expect that in Ft. Lauderdale or something. Just my view though, even my local cops fucked up and ripped me out of my car at gun point eh, not 5 months ago. Said i looked like a black guy and my car matched the description. BULLSHIT with a capital B. Im german, black hair(high and tight) and drive a Competition orange Mustang. There are maybe 3 other cars that color. That still pisses me off. |

I see this issue as one of perception. Its not news if a non minority runs his yap and gets a smack. These are largely cases of perception as we rarely if ever see what happened immediately before or after the few seconds of tape we are made aware of. There is always more to the story. I will relate an incident I am personally aware of that happened about 10 years ago. An officer responded to a complaint of shots fired in a public housing complex, she was joined by three other officers who also responded to the call. When she arrived she had observed a man who fit the general description of the person reported to have been shooting. The officers went to question him as a shoved his hand into his pocket when told to keep them visible. He was immediately tackled to the ground and the first offcer was half on the bottom of the pile. She could feel the gun pressing into her ribs. She began at the top of her girlish lungs Muther Fing him up one side and down the other as the other officers got control of his arms and got him cuffed. The suspect was armed, but was not injured. He was arrested and taken to jail. At the WC office, I received 8 phone calls and an offer of taped evidence that the officers had beat the snot out of the man for no reason. They had just whooped on him and the girl ( remember she was on the bottom of the pile ) was standing over all the others kicking him and beating him with a stick. I asked the complainant with the tape to meet me at the station so we could review it together. I asked that she bring her minister if she felt more comfortable. We went into my office and viewed the tape. It showed the incident from the time the man was on the ground. The girl was as reported on the bottom of the pile and the last up. By the time she had stood up, the suspect was disarmed, handcuffed and on his way to the cruiser. As she turned you could see her baton clearly in its holder on her belt. Her cussing was very clear on the tape. The minister chuckled as he and I and the complainant together determined that the worst offense was using foul language in public. It was deemed understandable because she was being crushed. What happened was that the callers had heard the swearing, knew she was a loud mouth, and assumed she was beating the snot out of the guy. A few months later I get a call from my officers. A suspect had resisted, punched an officer and roundly had the snot knocked out of him. No lasting injuries. The whole time the officers were yelling for him to quit resisting and to put his hands behind his back. There were several eye witnesses and I was prepared to take a complaint and get witness statements. All of the witnesses said that the man was fighting and hitting the officers and that they were polite and tried as hard as they could not to hurt him. In my heart I know there were late hits. The citizens however percieved the verbal commands of the officers in a positive way. Much the antithisis of the previous incident. I would venture most of these other incidents are the same. |
Whys is that BS? "most" citizens may comply, MOST officers do not draw weapons on MOST stops now, do they? |

Whites get beat down too if they deserve it, but we don't cry about it and call in the instigators -Al Sharpton etc- to turn a much needed beat down into a winning lottery ticket. The cops that do that are few and far between though, and I'm sure we can all agree that some people NEED to get beat down, and many of them bring it upon themselves. Of course there are cases of unwarranted beatings, and that's not cool. Those are not real cops IMO and should be relegated to desk duty. |
