We set a couple of game cameras up at our ranch this weekend and are getting some interesting pictures.

In this one there's a deer obscured by the time stamp and two pairs of eyes can be seen:

cool.  I'm going to check mine this week.  This is the first season I've used one.  I set it up in one spot, came back a couple days later and didn't have any pics.  So I moved it about 30 yards, came back two days later and had 12 pics.  I just have a 35mm-the digitals are a little spendy but it'd be nice to be able to see what you've got without getting the roll developed.

The biggest whitetails in the country come from Texas. For some reason the whitetails in this county run small, the one's in south Texas dwarf them. Every now and then we run across huge bucks, but they are hard to find.

I think, by average, the largest white-tails by size and rack are in Illinois.

I was only kidding. The last pic shows a couple of nice bucks. BTW, Texas is number 5 for Boone and Crocket Whitetails.

We have a runt population here on our ranch, don't know if it is a problem with tick-bourne diseases or too many deer or what. The deer are healthy, they're just not real big. It may have to do with the habitat too, lotsa trees= smaller size.

I won't let facts stand in the way of a good exaggeration.

Monk - Which model are you using?

I've been looking at digital versions, but wonder about batter life in the field.
