I've been thinking about investing in a suppressor for my 1911.  I've been looking particularly at Gemtech's line of .45 suppressors and AWC's Nexus.  The problem is that they are still very expensive.

So lately I've been rationalizing that I should begin my Class III ventures nice and small.  Hence, I have been considering options for .22LR suppressors.

I would really like to get a Walther PPK in .22, but those are really rare.  A company I found on the internet will sell me one for little under $1k, which is too much.  Would be nice, but pretty expensive.  Next, I looked at Bersa's line of .22 pistols, since they are reminiscent of Walthers and would still be pretty neat.  Problem there is I don't have much in the way of aftermarket options, esp. threaded barrels essential for suppression.

Lastly, I thought about getting a .22lr conversion for a mini glock and getting a suppressor for that.  Same as before, however, I am unaware of threaded barrels that I could purchase for said conversions.  The only conversion system I am aware of w/ a threaded bbl is by Jarvis, for the full size 1911.   While that certainly is a feasible option, I would like to get a small gun to be suppressed.  What are some other options for .22LR suppressors and little handguns?  What about the Walther P22?  Is that a good candidate?  Need input!

I love my P22, and to fit a suppresor, all you need is a $20 adaptor, and you're good to go.  I don't have a suppresor, but I may get one for it in the future.

Take a look at the Ruger MkII, with integrated suppressor - the suppressor is built into the gun.  You can get one for 800 dollars, plus the 200 dollar fee, and the three month wait, of course.

Ruger MKII integrally suppressed

By far, everyones favorite is the 10/22.  Have yet to see someone shoot it without a grin on their face.  The MKII comes in second, and the Beretta is a disappointment after shooting the other two.

the P22 was pretty much designed from the ground up to be suppressed.

ETA: cheap, and suppressor, aren't usually in the same sentance unles the word "not" is inbetween somewhere.
