Well I went camping and wanted to shoot a hog but never had the chance. I did see a rabbit and well here is the dinner pic..

I see food you killed (extra points right there) and I see guns. The core requirements of a dinner pic have been met. 1 point deduction for unopened can of peas.

Solid 9.

Say, how do you skin a rabbit anyway? I have a few wandering through my property, and I'd like to try eating one without getting sick or something. I've whacked two of 'em for destroying a garden, but I'd like to try and eat one this time.

I skinned it just like I would a deer or hog. This was my first rabbit to kill and grill. I shot it in the head so no bowel or bladder busted. Seemed easy enough.

I was able to just pull the skin off. It was easy.

I've never skinned a deer or a hog. Hell, I just need somebody to take me under their wing.

Rabbit fur peels right off (at least when warm).  Have someone hold it by the hind feet, start around the ankels. Once you get by the pelvic area, just pull until you get to the head. Cut that off and that's it.

Don't even need a knife until you get to the head.

That looks damn good!  Must've been the weekend to cook rabbit - I fried up a couple yesterday that my son and I got last winter, and even my daughter liked them.  Did you cook it all on the grill, and was it tough at all?  I've never tried it like that before.

Yes I cooked them on the grill. There were some dry pieces but not really tough. I could have taken it off the grill a little soonre. But it tasted good..

You can pull the head off a wild rabbit(cottontail) by stepping on it and pulling with the back legs.  Diagonal wire cutters are great for removing the feet.

Domestic rabbits are a different story, the fur will not just pull off, you need to skin it like other animals.  If a domestic (runaway) wabbit is in your garden, plan on this.

Tularemia is a bitch.  Be sure of what you are shooting.

Oh, yeah, nice dinner pic.  How did Thumper taste?
