I read in another post here that 5.56 is better to get if one is building one's own AR because that round develops higher pressures than the 223 and you can shoot both 223 and 5.56 in the 5.56.  Does that hold true with 7.62 vs 308?

Thanks,

.308 is actually higher pressure than 7.62x51

It needs to be covered from time to time.  In case things have changed.  I know but don't have time to get into it right now.

You know what would help:

1)  A sticky in the Ammo forum
2)  A web site called the "Ammo Oracle"
3)  A search engine that can find any web page on the planet by key word

Oh, wait, we already have all three.

.223 shoots straight because it's designed to kill, but 5.56 tumbles because it's designed to wound.

Still funny when people ask though. No matter how many times.
