This should be easy: I have a laptop computer (win 98) sitting here on my desk. I want to know what processor it has (PII, but WHAT SPEED?), without shutting it down to see the speed displayed on startup. Where within the machine do I look for this info? |

That involves setting up an internet connection. These are win98 machines, with only 56k modems. I'll dig through the spare parts bin for an old pcm/cia adapter........ |
No… What he meant was your current Internet connection. How are you posting this without a Internet connection. |
I'm surfing on *my* machine - an XP laptop with a 3.06Ghz P4. The others are just spares, and I needed one of them for a very specific task. Anyway, long story short, I found an adapter, got an internet connection working on the machine that (of the 2) had the most RAM, and it is now off and running. Didn't have time to check the speed via the internet. Thanks anyway, though. <---had forgotten how archaic Win98 was....... |
