| will the service packs for xp work in xp pro? |
Better yet - have someone update your XP install CD to a slipstreamed SP2 version. |
How do you do that? |
Ask, and you shall receive. Slipstream SP2! |
Slipstreaming integrates the updates in to the Windows XP install files. Then you make a new bootable CD with the updated installation files, so you end up with a Windows XP CD that includes the Service pack. This makes for a much more streamlined installation process which is very important in a corporate environment where you might be dealing with very many computers at once. Follow the instructions above and it should work for you. |
