Do a google on "winfix virus" and you will get a bunch of forum discussion on how to fix it. It's a bit tricky. My wife's computer had this, so did her sister's. It is trying to download a trial version of WinFixer, then keep bugging you to buy the full version. Since some network will block this kind of downloading, you are stuck with the download window. You will have to download some programs to fix this, but they are free. Just follow the instructions.

Had the same thing..... tried to get rid of it for 2 weeks. Ran every spyware remover I could find. None of the ones that claimed to be able to remove it would. I have experience with HijackThis, and it didn't even detect it.

Guess it was about time to reinstall windows anyway

this one is a real bastard.

Ended up having to delete all registry keys related to it, and uninstall all traces of it.

Finalyl got that to work. That is.... after running all the spyware tools that normally work. They didn't work for this one.

I’m always amazed at the amount of stuff people have in the run lines of their registry…

1)If you don’t use netzero you fersure need to gank that crap.
2) You might also gank the quicktime startup and real player.
3) Ditch yahoo and MS messenger – get one of the all in one clients that does not put shit in startup

Just run MSCONFIG.exe and take all that crap out of startup. (After you have removed the spyware)
It will be like you bought a $500 computer upgrade.
